Moving Forward with Intention in 2015

“A noble purpose inspires sacrifice, stimulates innovation and encourages perseverance.” ~ Gary Hamel

I am not one to dwell in the past. However, I am still in awe of Trinity Church’s Girlfriends Conference 2015. I am in awe of Angela Lowe’s breathtakingly beautiful choreography and Edlyne Decady’s costume designs.

I am in awe of my son Zachary’s sensitivity to the Spirit as he led worship.

I was moved to examine myself as I absorbed the words of John Grey and Lisa Bevere.

And of course, I enjoyed myself immensely as I recreated a Tina Turner performance of “Proud Mary” with the dance team. We had fun!

But most of all, I came away from the conference committed to moving forward in 2015 with intention. On the second day of the conference, I was able to share this video summarizing the Cambodia Missions Trips that had been funded in part by many of the women in the audience.

As I watched the video on the big screen in the Gusman Theatre, I realized that for me what we had accomplished as a team in Cambodia was just a beginning. The work that we had completed had barely scratched the surface in the fight against sex trafficking and the relentless cycles of poverty and exploitation. However, we had helped create a pathway for a group of children and youth to obtain an education and new opportunities beyond what had previously been possible. This year, I intend to return to Cambodia to continue the work. I intend to use all the proceeds from my book, “Inspired for Greater Things”, for this purpose.
